Men, you are so important to your woman and unborn baby during this time. Don’t worry about being a “coach,” knowing all about the game and calling the plays. What your partner needs is quiet, gentle, encouraging support which is called Tender Loving Care. You can do that.
As the classes progress you will find your confidence is growing as you learn how to “be with” your partner during your child’s birthing. You will be able to make suggestions to enhance her comfort and relaxation. By taking part in hypnosis sessions in HypnoBirthing you will have an opportunity to release your own fears and tensions so that you can better enjoy this incredible experience.
Cowichan Family Life Association offers a support group called “Dad’s Are Important Too.” Contact them at (250) 748-8281 or check out their web site www.cowichanfamilylife.org for more information.
The Father Involvement Network: FIN-BC can be found at bccf@bccf.bc.ca
